Sources: FRED CPIAUCSL (inflation basis), EIA weekly US regular gasoline and No 2 diesel retail prices and Cushing OK WTI spot price, BLS average price data for bread, eggs, milk, and ground beef. Fuel region prices are EIA's actual PADD district and sub-district series (New England/Central Atlantic/Southeast split out of the East Coast, plus Midwest, Gulf Coast, Rocky Mountain, and West Coast); grocery region prices are BLS's actual Northeast/Midwest/South/West Census-region averages. Both are real published series, not estimates — WTI crude has no regional variant since it's priced at a single delivery point (Cushing, OK). The trend chart and "Show the numbers" table stay national, since mixing two different region schemes into one chart would be more confusing than useful; region selection only changes the "Right now" price cards.
